Schoolmarm/SchoolMom: Teaching My Kids At Home

We've got interesting decor at our house. The living room shelves are filled with school books and binders; a miniature model of the Nile River Valley grows in a roasting pan on top of my refrigerator; and large maps line the hallway. Why? Well, my family and I, we "do school" at home.

If you've ever wondered why in the world someone would teach their children at home, what is often referred to as "home schooling," this essay provides some answers to that question.
